Saturday I started my break off with a big bang. I had the chance to capture the Taylors with an early morning shoot, and it was an adventure for sure! Dad decided to join and hang out (first time he has gotten to see me in action.) As soon as we arrived at the Taylors their youngest son Austen asked me: "Do you remember when I was a baby?" I said "yes, it wasn't that long ago." and he replied "good, because I don't!" Austen is such a hilarious kid. He is at that age where he is full of energy and has no filter for the thoughts in his mind. Thats pretty much how I work too, so Austen and I get along very well. We went to the lake in their neighborhood and even though it was overcast and a bit chilly, the light was perfect! It was a lot of fun to see the Taylors interact with each other. Also, it was neat to get a few shots of the kids playing and just acting normal. I had the change to see Makayla's colorguard skills and Blake's Susaphone awesomeness. It reminded me of when I was in band in highschool and how excited I was to learn and perform. I love shoots like these where I can capture a family interacting rather than posing to say "cheese." These experiences are the reason why I would love to do portraits of any sort. Here are my favorites from the shoot, hope you enjoy!
