Barina Bailey is one of the most passionate and beautiful women I have ever met. I have had the pleasure to get to know her starting in high school with flute lessons. Little did I know that as time continued, she would become more than a teacher and mentor, but a great friend. She carries the light of Christ in everything she does, and has taught me to do the same! Barina inspires me to follow my passions, pursue my faith, and to be the absolute best individual that I can be. Through shadowing her in High School, I learned how much one teacher can have a positive impact on so many students. Every day she creates a safe place in her classroom at Heritage Elementary School where students can express themselves through music. She introduces music in a way that students can interact with others, get involved, and develop their own passion. Because of this joy from the students as well as a lot of dedication/practice, Barina has an award winning honors choir who get to perform in amazing venues throughout Raleigh, NC. It is so wonderful to hear about all of their incredible accomplishments! The most recent-their invitation to join the Raleigh Boy Choir to participate in the American Music Festival at Wakefield Highschool April 17-18, 2015. This opportunity is a high honor, considering that only one other chorus was chosen to perform (Millbrook Highschool Men's Chorus)! I had the honor to create headshots of her for the program:
Barina, thank you for being such a great influence, mentor, friend, and example for me! You are such a joy to everyone who gets to experience your love and light!
